This is an asynchronous, introductory course on the 1EdTech imperatives, open standards and member benefits. In it you will learn key terminology, get an overview of the core technical standards developed by 1EdTech, and learn how to take advantage of your member benefits.  

This self-paced course is applicable to all members, included as a member benefit, and will take approximately 3.5 hours to complete.

TACL Module | Data Insights for Learner Success

As the world of assessment evolves rapidly into the future, there are high expectations that technology will provide a wide range of formative and summative options that all work together to help students succeed.

Administrators can leverage the knowledge of the 1EdTech community, connect their digital ecosystems, and enable themselves and their educators to benefit most from technology. This approach gives students access to appropriate assessments, shows educators real-time data to measure progress, and makes reaching broader opportunities possible. In this module, you will learn to deliver on redesigning equitable assessment to improve progress and personalization. 

In the corresponding workshop, you will gain experience in designing a data dashboard to achieve powerful insights across the digital ecosystem.

TACL Module | Curriculum Innovation & Strategies

As educational technologies advance, so does our ability to meet students where they are and adjust lessons and curricula to fit their needs without placing additional burdens on educators.

The 1EdTech community works together to ensure the digital curriculum products and tools your students need work together seamlessly, creating better educational experiences for all. In this module, you will learn to deploy a wider set of best-in-class digital resources for more engaged learning. 

In the corresponding workshop, you will gain hands-on experience in planning for innovation and be equipped with strategies to successfully take steps toward a more open, trusted, and innovative digital ecosystem. Additionally, you will learn best practices for engaging in conversations with stakeholders about interoperability and using open standards.

TACL Module | Learner Achievement & Opportunities

Given the challenges educators and employers have worldwide in finding the right fit between opportunities and quality candidates, the old approaches to recognizing and credentialing achievements are no longer good enough.

A connected ecosystem means more opportunities for prior learning, dual enrollment, internships, technical skills development, and educational experiences highly valued by multiple industries.

Digital credentials allow learners to make the most of their experiences while reducing administrative costs and headaches for organizations.  This module will teach you a working knowledge of and applicable use cases for 1EdTech's standards for digital credentials, including Open Badges and the Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR) Standard. In the workshop, you will gain experience using these standards to capture and represent learner skills and achievements.

Designing a high-quality educational experience for educators and learners includes seamless integrations that provide a secure and trusted data exchange among learning tools, applications, and programs.

This blueprint in action lightens the load for educators working to determine what learners know and gives them more time to innovate. A cohesive interoperability architecture reduces repetitive integrations, lowers barriers to entry, and focuses investment on innovation. In this module, you will learn to achieve an innovative, agile, and scalable edtech ecosystem for teaching and learning excellence. 

In the corresponding workshop, you will gain hands-on experience designing an interoperable digital ecosystem. Additionally, you will learn best practices for engaging in conversations with stakeholders about interoperability and using open standards.

TACL Module | Data Privacy and Accessibility  

This module is one of the required five required modules of the TrustEd Apps Certified Leader Program (TACL). To learn about upcoming offerings and enroll in the program, please contact us at tacl@1edtech.org. 

1EdTech vets the privacy policies of hundreds of edtech companies, of all types, on a regular basis using an open standard data privacy rubric.  Additionally, the 1EdTech Data Privacy, Generative AI, Accessibility and Security Practices rubrics are each designed and utilized by 1EdTech members to ensure a trusted digital learning ecosystem. These tools give institutions and suppliers the helping hand they need to reduce the time and worry spent determining whether a particular edtech tool meets today’s data privacy and accessibility expectations.

This module will provide a deeper level of understanding about the open standard data privacy, accessibility and security rubrics. It will also deepen your understanding of the 1EdTech TrustEd Apps Program and the Accessibility, Generative AI and Security open standard tools and supplier self-assessment processes.
