TLS allows client/server applications to communicate over the Internet in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, and message forgery. The 1EdTech Security Framework mandates the use of either TLS 1.2 (defined in IETF RFC 5246) or TLS 1.3 (defined in IETF RFC 8446).
